Tung Chung Bridges   Bridge Launching   
Construction of the Tung Chung Bridges, North Lantau Expressway at the Chep Lap Kok Airport in Hong Kong were constructed using the Incremental Launching technique in 1994 - 1995.
 
Construction of 2 No. Road expressway bridges and 1 No rail bridge connecting North Lantau Island with the new Chep Lap Kok Airport.
 
The bridges were constructed using the incremental launching technique with each launch of 22m approximately being half the span with 15 launches per 326m long bridge.
 
The concentric prestress utilised the BBR Multi Wire System of varying sizes from 31/7mm dia wires to 85/7mm dia wires and the continuity prestress utilised the 31/12.7mm dia Cona Multi Strand System.
